While most people enjoy traveling, few people enjoy the hassle associated with flying--arriving two hours early at the airport, checking suitcases, going through security, dealing with jetlag, etc. With these tips, however, you can reduce the stress and discomfort associated with flying and relax and enjoy the ride.
How to Dress for a Long Flight
Although it may be tempting to arrive at your destination in style, travelers are better off traveling in comfortable, hassle-free clothing. While pajamas may be a bit too casual for international travel (and will probably attract some stares on international flights), wearing a cotton t-shirt and comfortable, loose-fitting, wrinkle-free pants is an excellent choice. No matter what the temperature of your final destination, wear short sleeves and bring a sweater, comfortable jacket, blazer, cardigan or zip-up, so that you will be prepared for the temperature fluctuations during the flight.
Save Time and Energy at Airport Security
To save time and hassle when going through security, avoid wearing lots of layers, lace-up boots or accessories. Airport security will require you to remove hats, boots, scarves, belts, watches, shoes, and jewelry, so dress simply: skip the belt, hat and jewelry if possible and wear slip-on shoes.
